Cal Day is the one day a year the MVZ opens its doors to the public and shows off some of the most interesting specimens in its over 700,000 specimens. This year is no exception, and as part of the celebration of the Centennial, this year will be the biggest Cal Day yet!

Each year since it began, Cal Day within the MVZ has been growing, and this year is the biggest yet. We have some interesting displays planned:

  • The evolution of the MVZ over the century
  • Our genetics lab and the work done there
  • 100 specimens from 100 years of research
  • Field work: what is it like?
  • Current and past research projects

We will bring out some of our rarest and most interesting specimens, have even more games and activities, and have live animals for the public to view and hold.

Professors, MVZ students and staff scientists will be there to tell you about some of the marvelous collections, and answer any questions you might have. Check back soon to learn about some of the presentations you can come see!
