UCB Undergraduate Research in the Museum

In addition to working in the collections, the Museum offers many exciting opportunities for UCB undergraduates or recently graduated students to work with Museum faculty, curators, and graduate students in the lab or field. These may include paid or unpaid positions, or work study positions. We encourage undergraduates to seek out such positions by applying to our undergraduate program and checking our job listings site or talking directly with individual researchers.

Students should fill out a "MVZ Undergraduate Application" (get) and submit it to the front office of the MVZ, attention Anna Ippolito (or email it). We hold orientations for new students at the beginning of each semester. We seek motivated students that have interests that match well with our research and collection activities -- all applicants are welcome.

There are many Current projects in the Museum that involve undergraduates. Students can browse through the research projects and contact the researchers involved directly. Or, students can note the projects that they are interested in on their application. UCB Students -- please see our Student Position Listings for current openings, but realize that if you are interested in a certain project you may be able to volunteer for it even if it doesn't list any openings.
