ELISE BURTON began assisting the museum during her freshman year in the spring of 2007. She has been a georeferencer for HerpNet ever since, and is a respected member of the Map Room team. In the fall of 2007, she also took IB 160, Evolution, which is taught in part by MVZ Director and IB faculty member, Dr. Craig Moritz.

“I love working at the MVZ—the people here have really inspired me to pursue my interest in biology and explore areas of the subject I’d never experienced before. It’s also given me the confidence to seek further MVZ internship opportunities once my project ends this year. I intend to stay connected to the MVZ throughout my time at UC Berkeley, and I know the relationships and experience I’ve gained from it will help me greatly should I choose to make a career in biological research.”
