Katharine Lovett

Katharine Lovett started working the the MVZ during the fall of her sophomore year, 2006. She mostly focused on developing her specimen preparation skills down in the Prep Lab, which she still participates in today, but she also worked in the MVZ Molecular and Genetics Lab setting up PCR and running gel electrophoresis under graduate student Matt MacManes in the Fall of 2007. She also volunteered on CalDay 2007 helping with live animal education and showing people the displays.

”I have really enjoyed working in the prep lab this last year and a half. So much of what you do in college is book-based learning, so hands-on work is always appreciated and valuable and it’s fun too!  Plus, Monica is amazing.”
