Peter Devore

Peter Devore started working in the MVZ during the summer between his junior and senior year, June 2007 and has been here ever since. He is a programmer working for the Biodiversity Informatics Lab in the MVZ. The assignment that he spends most of his time on is being assistant programmer for the collection database Arctos. His job has been to create and maintain web applications in Arctos that use the specimen database. Some of his accomplishments have been adding in new features, fixing stylistic problems, and making several different printout applications, including permit reports and labels for various uses.

“Working at the MVZ has been my favorite job. This is not only because I learned that I enjoy web interfaces: it is also because of the people I work with. My supervisors are some of the coolest people I know, as well as being helpful whenever I require assistance. The atmosphere at the MVZ is what really keeps me happy: the people I work with are ‘chill’ but also very hard workers.”
